Be bold, benign and bloom!

‘You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection’

Yes fellas! Think for a moment. You have been criticizing, complaining, scolding yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens. My journey inward began with the question from a friend; Do you love yourself? I immediately felt my vulnerability. I myself didn’t know the answer!

I used to give myself quite a hard time. I felt like I wasn’t measuring up or doing enough or achieving as much as others.

I’d tell myself that I was stupid, useless, and a thoroughly incompetent, unworthy human being. Pretty mean stuff, really! I wouldn’t even speak to my worst enemy the way I was speaking to myself. It was time to make a change.

‘Are you at war with yourself?’; echoed in my mind!

 I tried figuring out and it was the confidence, boldness and fearlessness that were lacking! And then I imbibed the following life lessons that I won’t ever forget:

The more you like yourself, the more confidence you have. The more you like yourself, and believe in yourself, the more efficient and effective you are in each area of your life.

Take challenges. Take action and get it done! Sitting at home and thinking about it will just make you feel worse.

Fight instead of Flight to difficulties! Realise that fear is often based on unhelpful interpretation. Realise that failure or being wrong will not kill you. Get to know who you are and what you want out of life.

 

Never bend your head. Always hold it high. Look the world straight in the face.

Live life consistent with your values.

I remember one of my favourite songs by Katy Perry:

You don’t need to feel like a waste of space.

You’re original, cannot be replaced.

If you only knew what the future holds.

After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed

So you can open one that leads you to the perfect road.

Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow.

And when it’s time, you’ll know.

 

Thus, be happy. Love yourself. Be fearless, be bold, be you and bloom!
